Pat, this is wonderful. I worked "alongside" Jack for 16 years, at the CR Gazette's NE Iowa Bureau and as the CR Bureau for the Register. The first time I met Jack I was covering a tornado-stricken town in NE Iowa (can't remember which one, too many tornadoes) for the CR Gazette. He was kneeling by the side of an apartment building, talking to a resident in the basement floor from the window that was level with the ground. I remember thinking, "Man, he is a pro." Iowa was lucky to have his talents!
